Hey Hey- Welcome to the studio.

Hey :a polite acknowledgment (boring)

Hey! :a friendly greeting (ok, getting warmer)

Hey Hey :a playful, energetic, inviting hello that grabs attention and sets a relaxed and approachable tone for the conversation (Umm, did we just become best friends)

This is the kind of place that goes a little overboard on a few things and a solid introduction and killer first impression is one of them. It's sort of my specialty.

Creative copywriter, founder of Hey Hey Studio, and the one leading the charge for ambitious brands forging a legacy (Psst-that's you!)

But let's start at the beginning....

What does a mental health case manager, a humanitarian aid worker, and an infertility survivor all have in common?
Me.

Right after finishing my degree in Communications and Public Relations, I got right to work at a marketing agency saving the world.

My drive isn't fueled by having more, and my experience didn't start in a conference room. It's always been about making a difference and using my voice, resources, and influence to make things better for the ones I'm better off than.

The most important stories I've ever written were to advocate for the care of those suffering with their mental health, empower hurting people living half a world away, and connect with the aching hearts and empty arms of women longing for a miracle.

My expertise isn't in marketing; it's in people.
My value isn't calculated in dollars, but change.
My business isn't for the ones chasing more, but better.

Consumers still make purchasing decisions based on emotions, social influences, and status.

But the linear path of purchasing is scrambled, the market is crowded, and let's be honest, you're so over screaming louder and dancing harder for sales.

It's time to get off the template, guru, robot merry go-round.

Let's give your customers the authentic, inspirational, relationship-driven experience they're craving.

How do you reach people who are so over being sold to?

It all comes down to how you communicate your value and market what you do. And it just so happens that's what I do best.

Well, let's start that again: people haven't changed, but how we attract loyal customers has.

The Game Has Changed

So, I'm a copywriter, but my real job is finding the words that amplify your impact and shape how you’re remembered.

LET’S CONNECT

You're not looking for brand recognition, you're looking for brand obsession. The kind that develops a community of loyal followers, happy customers, aaand maybe a few stalkers.

I'm the expert who's ready to approach your brand with the heart of a creative, the charisma of a reality TV bad boy, and the grit of a pair of heels on girls' night.

Because you're not just chasing a sale, you're forging a legacy.

Everyone has that really wise friend. Mine's the one that taught me lessons in potty training my kids, showing up for myself, and how to have empathy for the people whose mamas just didn't teach them right. (Still working on that.)

She's also the friend who worked at a marketing agency and texted me one day to ask, "Hey, do you want to write for me, like for work? It probably won't be enough to furnish your basement (my big goal at the time) but..."

I was so insecure in the beginning. I wrote stories, not sales pitches. Who was I to be marketing anything?

But over the next three and a half years, I became obsessed with learning everything I could about human-first marketing. I geeked out on understanding the difference between transactions and interactions, crafting stories for more personable connections between brands and their customers, and the psychology behind people's purchasing decisions.

I learned words are the building blocks of stories, and stories are the foundation of human connection and that's where good marketing starts.

I got my feet wet writing for small businesses, national chains, and global brands.

This wasn't just a job I could do; it's the essence of who I am.

I was hooked.

Now, my really wise friend is the COO of an epic marketing agency, and I had a kick-ass basement. *Had, because I'm addicted to home design, can't sit still, and sold the house right after furnishing that basement perfectly.

Bringing Heart to Your Brand

fun facts

I love living my one-and-only-never-boring life in Kansas City (Missouri, yes, it matters) with my husband, our two boys, and our golden doodle, ornery Arnie. I'm an Enneagram 4W3, wanna be morning person and plant nerd.

My phone is full of half-written thoughts on life, my toxic trait is staying too late, and I wrote the book on asking too many questions.

Racheal Burnett, COO Guild Collective (& the really wise friend)

"I've had the pleasure of knowing Shea for over ten years, and for working with her for the past three. Finding someone who can breathe personality, heart, and strategy through words is tough. And finding a person who is also resourceful, on time, and responsive is even harder. And then finding someone who is also a joy to work with because she enjoys what she does is near impossible. But that's Shea! "

People like, trust, and buy from brands that feel less like a slick rick and more like Rick, your dad. *Unless you hate your dad, then you really need more help than I can offer.

The only thing dry and monotonous around here is my martini order. **tink tink
